Yo ho! Yo ho! The swirl is life for me! Yes, I am a swirler. Granted, it’s not exclusively since I am a lover of all things male. But it is my preferred dating style as of late. Why am I now more partial to dating outside of my race, you ask? No offense to African American men, but I feel much more valued when I am in a relationship with a Caucasian man.
The trend of swirling is also quickly picking up steam. I follow about two or three blogs on Tumblr dedicated to interracial dating. In addition, a June 2014 Madame Noir article about the Swirl Life stated that “96 percent of Blacks are a-okay with interracial marriages.” The post also noted that the most common interracial coupling was that of Latinos and whites, and the coupling to last the longest were black women and white men.
